Cookies & Device Storage
Version 1.0-draft (QC-035) · Last updated 18 August 2026
Orryn Quote Tracker uses only the cookies and device storage strictly necessary to sign you in, keep the Gmail connection secure, and deliver notifications you have explicitly enabled. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not show a cookie-consent banner, because nothing we use requires one under current UK cookie-law guidance -- see the full evidence in operations/compliance/COOKIE-AND-DEVICE-STORAGE-INVENTORY.md.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session cookies | HTTP cookie | Keep you signed in as you move between pages | Session/refresh lifetime |
| Google OAuth transaction cookie | HTTP cookie, encrypted | Protect the Gmail-connect redirect against forgery while you authorise access | Single use, cleared immediately on return |
| Owner console admission flag | sessionStorage | Avoid re-showing an internal admission check during one browser tab's visit to the operator-only console | Current browser tab only |
| Web Push subscription | Browser Push API + service worker | Deliver due/overdue/reply notifications you have explicitly enabled | Until you disable notifications or the subscription expires |
What we don’t use
No analytics cookies, no advertising or tracking pixels, and no third-party marketing scripts. If this changes in a future release, we will update this page and add a consent mechanism before any non-essential technology runs.
Managing cookies
Because our cookies are strictly necessary, blocking them in your browser will prevent Orryn Quote Trackerfrom working correctly (for example, you will not stay signed in). You can control browser notification permission at any time from your browser or device settings, or from Settings > Notifications inside Orryn Quote Tracker.
